Camp NaNoWriMo, April 2020: My Project & Plan

Updated: Sep 29

For this year’s April Camp NaNoWriMo, I announced my project on their site a few days ago: I will be working on the second round of edits for my Young Adult realistic fiction novel and first in its series: Blue Valley Nights book #1! 🎉 I will refer to it as its code name “Project Blue” until the big title and cover reveal in May!

The first round of editing has been completed in late March, so now I will start to post more graphics, teasers, etc., and am getting closer to announcing the date for the title and cover reveal!

My plan is to edit the whole manuscript (which sits at 42,000 words right now as of 4/13/20) and tack on another 8k to get me to the acceptable novel length of 50k.

I normally don't commit to NaNoWriMo in April and I rarely do in November (I like doing the July Camp since I don't have school or band camp), but since the spark of COVID-19 and pretty much everything in my life shutting down, I now have more time to pursue my writing, which quite frankly is one of the only things getting me through this crisis at the moment.

I also have created a group on my NaNoWriMo profile, which is similar to the old "cabin." If you want to send me a buddy request or be in my writing group of 20, my username is (at)BonnieSynclaire!

Also, you can add “Project Blue” to your Goodreads TBR list here!
